Privacy Policy
What we collect when you visit kayanworkstation.com or sign up to follow the build, why we collect it, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have.

The short version. If you sign up, we keep your email address and use it to send you updates about Kayan. We don't use cookies, we don't run ad trackers, and we never sell your information. You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information at any time.
Who we are
This site is run by Kayan LLC, a music hardware company based in Los Angeles, California ("Kayan", "we", "us"). You can reach us about anything on this page at info@kayanworkstation.com.
What we collect
When you sign up. Your email address. With it, we record which signup form you used and how you found the page: the campaign tags in the link you followed (for example, a link from our Instagram), the referral code in a link a friend shared, the website that sent you, and the page you first landed on.
If you answer the DAW question. The DAW you pick, stored with your email address.
When you visit. We use Plausible Analytics to count visits and a few actions on the page, such as whether a signup went through. Plausible doesn't use cookies, doesn't store your IP address, and doesn't build a profile of you. We only see totals.
Technical information. Like any website, the servers that deliver the page receive your IP address and basic browser details. Our host uses them to serve the site and to filter spam from signups.
On your device. The page saves a small note in your browser's local storage: how you arrived (the same campaign and referral details as above) and, once you've signed up, your email address, so the page knows not to ask you again. It stays in your browser and isn't sent anywhere unless you sign up. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
We don't ask for your name, address, phone number or payment details, and we don't set cookies.
How we use it
- To send you a welcome email and updates about Kayan: build logs, milestones, votes on design decisions, and invitations such as the private beta.
- To learn which channels bring people to the page and which DAWs our community uses, so we can make better product and design decisions.
- To keep the signup working and free of spam.
We don't sell or rent your personal information, we don't share it with anyone for their own advertising, and we don't use it for targeted ads.
Who helps us
We use a few trusted services to run the site and send email. Each one handles your information only to provide its service to us, under its own privacy policy.
- Netlify
- Hosts the website and receives signup submissions.
- Kit
- Keeps our email list and sends our updates.
- Resend
- Sends the welcome email.
- Plausible Analytics
- Counts visits without cookies or personal data.
- Google Fonts
- Serves the typeface this site uses. Your browser requests the font files from Google, which receives your IP address.
These services may store and process information in the United States and other countries. We may also share information if the law requires it, or with a successor if Kayan is ever merged or acquired, under the same commitments made here.
Links to other sites, such as our social accounts or community spaces, are covered by those sites' own policies.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address and signup details for as long as you're on our list. When you unsubscribe, you stop receiving email from us; our email provider keeps a record of the unsubscribed address so that you aren't added back by mistake. If you ask us to delete your information, we remove it from our email list and signup records within 30 days.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe using the link in any update, or reply "unsubscribe" to any email from us.
- See, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing info@kayanworkstation.com. We'll reply within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, including California, the European Union and the United Kingdom, you may have further rights: to know what personal information we hold and how we use it, to get a copy, to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw your consent at any time. We rely on your consent to email you. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. We'll never treat you differently for using any of these rights.
We don't sell or "share" personal information as California law defines those terms. Because we don't track you across websites, we handle browsers sending Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals the same way: no cross-site tracking for anyone.
Children
This site isn't meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
The site and the services above use encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to our list is limited to the people who run Kayan. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care to protect what you share with us.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also tell subscribers by email before it takes effect.
